OK Guys and Galls,
Just wanted to send out an unbiased results of a JC Stage 1 install on a 95 37K miles (all original)
Stage one came with CAI, Euro HFM?, and a chip
Complaints: All the info I have read on this forum has been very positive about the JC CAI stock look and fit. Well, I have got to say I would give a score of a 5, 10 being the best. The plastic used for the CAI is about as thick as a one gallon jug for milk.... I'd rather something as heavy as the plastics used in the OEM air filter system.
Also, for 985$ I sure would not mind an install video. Yes, I was able to figure it out, but again for a grand you would think you could get a video
Results: Very smooth exceleration. Before I did the install I would get some slight fluttering as I hit the gas.... Now the Tach just flies up to 6K without the slightest of hesitation. The but-t dyno tells me there is some increase in power delivered at earlier RPMs than before, and it feels as though the engine really wants to deliver gobs of power up in the 6k regions (I don't really want to go beyond that)
I aslo like how when sitting at a red-light the car just sounds like it used to, but if you demand power out of the engine, WOW --- an acoustical orgasim!
Is worth a grand, NO WAY. The parts and material costs alone is probably around 200 at max.
But, I would buy it all over agian.....
