I had the same issue at 20 - 25 MPH. I ended up getting new tires and a four wheel alignment and everything is great. At that speed my tires were scuffing due to the alignement,

That's nice to hear considering that its an easy fix. Expensive but easy.

I have a question concerning alignment. I called BMW and they quoted $200 plus tax for balance and alignment. This seems high. Can I do the alignment at another smaller specialized BMW shop and get the same results? Or does BMW have the best technique / tools?

        Thanks

Dealers rarely have the best techniques (though it varies). Find a good independent shop, though don't expect to save too much.

I didn't know that. I was figuring they had the best technique because they only work on our cars. From logic, I thought that mechanics that work on all types of cars know a little about everything and not as much as someone that just works on BMW's. I'll look around though.

            Thanks

The problem with a dealer is there may only be one guy there who really knows his sh*t, and then a team of people who are of questionable knowledge.

It's anybody's guess as to who is working on your car when you bring it to a dealer. I've heard some horror stories.

The best thing to do is find a high quality European car mechanic; even better would be an independent BMW specialist. I'm sure they have them in your area.
