    Performance differance between 2dr & 4dr

So I am trying to decide between a 2dr and 4dr that I have found. Is there any performance difference between the two, Handling, 0-06, 1/4 mile etc. What is the weight difference. Thanks for the help.

    Everything is the same.

I think they are nearly indentical. I think the sedan may weigh a little bit more.

The sedan has a less steeply racked windshield and squarer taillights.

I would prefer to have a sedan so people could use the back seats, but they were way out of my price range at the time. And weren't available in Avus.

I did a lot of research before I bought my sedan. There's no difference between the two performance wise. Sedan even has a better letral g force.

They weigh EXACTLY the same. Length is the same, but sedan is slightly narrower and taller. Sedan is tighter in term of rigidity. There's a reason they used sedan's for racing

Funny how I used to post and ask these stuff just a few weeks ago and now I'm answering them

Go for the sedan, for all practical purposes it is exactly the same And it's the perfect wolf in sheep's clothing

              Don't forget the insurance benefit....my 4-door M3 cost me less than my 95 325is.

"No, Mr. Insurance Agent, it's not a sports car...it has 4 doors, and no spoiler....."

              Ha ha

Eat it you 4 door slow pokes!

Just remember 4 doors where only made in 97 to 98, so no 3.0L OBD I to play with.

The 2 extra doors look like an after thought IMO. They kill the car's beautiful lines.

I had a 95 coupe for many years. Sold it and got a 98 manual sedan with low miles...and bone stock. If you ask me which I prefer...its the sedan. You see less of them, I think they look better, and I love having usable access to the backseat.

The sedans look better? Come on now, if that were the case, BMW would have made them every year instead of just 2. Why no sedans in 99?

FYI: the sedans were always available in Europe. They were brought late to the U.S. due to demand....and they definitely look better

There's no way I could knock the 2-dr. I love it. BUT, I like the overall shape of the 4-dr better. My main reason for the 4 dr is for my family and for my friends jumping in and out of my car. Basically the practicality aspect.
