SS brake lines for street car?

Have a chance to pick up a set of ss lines for the car for 80 dollars. I've always swapped to ss lines on my bikes, but wondering if it's going to yield any braking improvement on the car. Anyone do this on thier street car (no track time)? Car has 65k miles, so I'm almost considering it just so I never have to worry about the stock rubber lines getting old.

Interested to hear from people that have some.

I haven't done it on my M, but I have done it on cars previous. IMO, it gives the pedal a stiffer feel, but you get better feedback from your brakes. If you can get them for that price, I'd say by all means put them on. They will perform better, and they last longer than stock.

They don't nessecarily last longer than stock, and you cannot tell when they are in need of replacement. Also quality varies. It should yield a slightly firmer pedal feel as you noted on your bike. If they are known quality it sounds good.

Thanks guys. They are Turner Motorsports versions. I'm not that worried about the quality control as I've had numberous sets on bikes with AL fittings that people worry about without a problem. More doing it for the pedal feel and I just hate having rubber lines on any vehicle. Ordered a set of speedbleeders for the calipers, so I'll be able to quickly change fluid every year and never worry about the already fantastic brakes.

...sure wish my pads and rotors needed changin :-)

I put the Turner lines on about 6-8 mos. ago. They are a good quality brake line that will give you the better pedal feel you are after.

I hear you on the pads, I might do mine just to try and get rid of some of the dust.

            Good to hear, thanks.

I sure understand the dust issue. Just got my first can of wheel wax, in the few times I've used old generic wax on the wheels, the dust does seem to take longer to build up. Just hard to justify throwing out a perfectly good set of pads cause I don't like cleaning the wheels every week :-)
