    Headlight Info Needed.

I have a Dinan equipped 98 M3 and would like to do a headlight upgrade. I have been told that certain headlights wont fit around the CF cold air intake. What direction should I look for lights? Thanks

Get ZKW's. They fit just fine with my CAI.

www.umnitza.com is where I got mine.

woah woah woah...careful there. I have a dinan style CF intake like yours and had to cut the sh!t out of the mounting bracket so that it would fit. I have Bosch Projectors.

I've heard some dinan guys got away with it and didn't have a huge problem, but don't buy headlights unless you're prepared to do a lot of shoving to make it fit and cut off a few random useless plastic parts. I had to cut my headlights and my intake mounting bracket. The whole process was quite painful. Just be aware.

I did a lot of searches on bimmerforums before I decieded to buy my headlights, but I still had problems.

Thats why you get ZKW's, which are OEM lamps. No cutting, no shoving.

I heard people have trouble with ZKW's too.

I had to angle mine in one odd direction to get them to slide in properly. Thats it. Noting to the point that raised my blood pressure, or caused me to cuss my neghbor out for being an idiot.

What kind of intake do you have? The only intakes that give you problems are the ones that go down and get air from your brake ducts.

Its not "true" as in down to the bumper. Its the cutoff one in the engine bay.

Yeah, the reason the ones that the "true" CAI's cause problems is that they have these big@ss mounting brackets that attach the intake to the car right where the headlights are going to come in. With the US ones, it's no problem because they aren't that deep, but the euro lights go back a farther and get in the way.

Ok, so after like 50 posts, we've all agreed that you MAY have fitment problems, so just be aware. There are lots of guys who have pulled this off without much trouble though, so go get the new headlights with images of a hacksaw in the back of your head.

I would also recommend ZKW's over Bosch just because I heard they are a bit slimmer.

Oh, and if you want to get the real low down on headlights, talk to Ty Vil.

Thanks for all the input! What do you guys think of those Diamond or Crystal clear fogs?
