    Raced a stang....

    Pretty fun I must say.

Never gotten into a street race before, and this wasn't one were we both decided to race either.

This dude had been following me down the road we were on for a few miles before, and we ended up at a red light.

I honestly wasn't going to do anything, because at the last light, we were both lined up also, and I just took off in my normal, hasty fashion and he didn't prusue, so I thought nothing of it at this light, and I was kinda tired at the time too, so I wasn't in the mood to play around really.

My ASC was already off, as it had been raining a couple hours beforehand, and I was out playing around. :haha:

So, when the light turns green, I calmly start to go, and then all hell breaks loose.

I suddenly hear his engine roar to life, naturally, I consider this a threat and return the favor. (What kind of guy doens't give a reach around eh?)

So, I go directly into WOT, still in 1st gear, rapidly approaching 7k rpms, I jamb her into 2nd, and to my surprize; I actually chirp my tires.

Then about a 1/2 second later I hear him chirp his, by then I am about 1/2 to 3/4 car lenghs in front of him, by thrid gear, I was a full lengh ahead, but had to cut back then because my turn was rapidly approaching.

After that, my car felt much more responsive and quick. :shrugs:

    Pretty fun I must say.

Now, I think it may have been a GT, but I wasn't paying attention, could have been a regular old stang for all I know. Sure wasn't a saleen or cobra, as I don't think I would have any chance aginst them.

nice race. I think cobras times r exactly as our times on the quarter mile. So it'll be down to the shifting

Definitely a GT if he was even close to you. Nice kill and interesting analogy with the reach around..LOL.

2001 Cobra is about 13.6 in the 1/4 mile.

          2003 Cobra is about 13.1.

An experienced driver should be able to make those cars go faster than ours in a straight line with no problem. Curves are a different story.

Nice Kill Sirius. Sounds like a GT.
