I like it when he says.."yaayyy" in the most dry voice EVER at the end. That was hilarious.

heheh of all the places to go off on gingerman that's the one place i wouldn't expect but i guess it makes sense.

every lap i was careful in that corner not to carry too much speed as it is the one place where you COULD end up in the wall.

Hmm...almost looks like he was watching the car in front of the car in front of him which continues straight?

He didn't downshift and he closes really fast on the dude in front of him who's hard on the brakes.

As soon as I get all my fluids replaced (got the car little over a month ago) I'll be heading to GMan...it's only about an hour from my house. $80 to drive the track from 5:30 'til dusk on weekdays

For those of you that have done GMan do you ever use 2nd ... or is it a 3rd/4th gear track ... assuming you're in an E36 M3 with no major mods?

That's what you call "red mist".

And I wouldn't say it's "not how to drive". He was doing somewhat well (hitting apexes and that double apex). Then again, I've never been to the track and it's a little tough to tell if he's on line or not.

E36 with only lightened flywheel and short-shifter:

there's a couple places (turn 1 & 2-3) where you end up lugging a bit in 3rd, and are tempted to go down to 2nd but it's really faster to just stay in third. especially given the plentiful torque we have, it really isn't worth it.

the back straight and front straight i was able to grab 4th in both -- if i didn't i sat on the rev limiter in 3rd. the front straight is questionable since you don't stay in 4th for very long at all before braking. i'd imagine that with power mods it would become more important to go to 4th.

the back straight you definitely end up grabbing 4th, though, as the turn onto it is faster and it is longer than the front straight.

the rest of the track is all 3rd, though.

                    Thanks Ebb,

I have zero mods and was curious what the money shift probability would be (# of 3-4 shifts)...though I have been practicing the "hand to the left side" shift from 3 to 4. Though I love the torque of these cars I miss the awesome shifting of the Miata.

hopefully i'll be getting redline put into my car in the near future, i'm hoping that helps the shifter feel.

                        eh, thats not bad.

Looks like he was trying to run down the vette, and just went too deep. He apexed early the previous corner, you could see him pinch the exit. No harm, no foul.
