    vibration/chattering/need help

    99 m3 with 95,000

starting out in first, i'm fine. in second i get a pretty harsh chatter/vibration fromt he rear. if i turn and pull a hill in second it also happens and sometimes i can feel it in the floor of the car. it's also occasionally pretty loud. then that all goes away until around 60mph where my steering wheel shakes slightly. that goes away around 70. does anyone know what could be wrong? i've searched the forum for this and did find some threads but no thoughts or advice were really given.

    thanks

Check your RSM's, might be your rear trailing arm bushings too...

ya, it's not the rsm. i think it's a drivetrain problem. here's a question. anyone know what a bad guibo would cause? it seems like the driveshaft actually binds on something.

it's definately not suspension mount, possibly trailing arms but i doubt that. i've checked all that recently and the rsm's are billet aluminum with steel reinforments and poly bushings.

Could be the guibo. When mine went out on my old 325, I was getting all kinds of funky noises/vibrations. See if it's getting "hairy". There were fibers coming out of the degrading rubber on my bad one...
