UK E36 - replacement exhaust questions

The stock exhaust on my '98 M3 coupe is slowly coming to the end of its life. Can anyone in the UK (london area) advise me on my options to replace it? I'm NOT looking at anything crazy, I want the car to remain as close to original as possible. BMW want 670 pounds for a new replacement. Can anyone advise of any other options that will keep the car as quiet as possible without any performance compromises?

    Many thanks in advance, Robert

I am surprised that its on its last legs on a 98, has it been damaged ? Exhausts on BM’s generally last very well.

You may get more response on http://www.bm3w.co.uk/ which is a UK board. I think Supersprint is a popular choice and Joe from Hyper Turismo is on there and normally offers special deals for BM3W members.

Never heard the Supersprint but the ACS pipes (I think made by Remus) sound very good but are a little louder than normal and are DTM style.

I'm from the other side of the world but have a Euro M3...

I went with Remus after considering a fair few options. Quality is not an issue, they make aftermarket exhausts for a lot of companies, ACS included. It was the sound that got me... oh so close to stock when she's in cruise mode (less tinny, more depth) but damn, when you go WOT heads turn! It sounds like a rabid beast when you've got your foot to the floor... best of both worlds in my view.

It hit me about 500 Sterling. I'm not disappointed.

Maybe last legs is a bit of an overstatement, there's nothing wrong with it (the dealership said not to bother replacing it) but as I park in an underground car park its bothering me. Purely aesthetic. Thanks for the advice. Robert
