I Purchased a 1998 M3, it was a theft recovery. it only came with one (1) Key and I need a spare. Went to the BMW dealer, the copyed the reg and DL and then said that they could'nt make another key because it has a salvage title. :banghead: Then they said that it would cost $700.00 to get another engine management system because of it being a transponder key. PLEASE anyone that knows of anyone that can copy this key please Email ME at [email protected] Thank You

Good luck. Almost all new BMW keys are impossible to copy due to how they are initally cut in the first place, not to mention the chip.
I am surprized they didn't tell you that you had to change out your entire lock set too. -
Yea they said that it would come with 4 keys (2 masters, 1 wallet, 1 valet) so i guess that they are going to change out the lock set, its amazing $700.00 because BMW doesnt like their cars to be recycled. but I thought that they did.Comment
