    Possible SCAM! Need your opinions....

Guys Im trying to sell my car on autotrader and I have a bunch of dealer leads. One has just responded to my email saying this:

"Thanks for your mail and update.I just finished speaking with my client who intended the purchase of your vehicle, and he is showing much interest in your vehicle. He is only constrained with inadequate time due to the nature of his business (INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MERCHANDIZE),my client has therefore humbly requested the clearer pictures of the interior and exterior view of the vehicle,as he is not likely to come and test drive the vehicle,he has actually been buying items in this manner. You are advised to forward the pics asap as he is presently proposing an international trip soonest.Use a digital camera or GIF file to enable* clearer shots.

Remember to include your final asking price.I 'll be very much delighted to call you asap on your phone, but as soon as the reconnection of all our appliances is restored to it's original state;our company is presently experiencing communication problem, owing to the company's relocation to it's newly found site, please bear with us,as our effective communication will henceforth be through this media temporarily.Have a nice day,i'll be expecting your mails with the pics, including the engine performance and capacity.

What do you all think? I need to sell my M asap as another one I am highly interrested in came up for sale. What should I do....

It sounds a bit fishey but they arent proposing some absurd payment plan yet. All he requests is pics...I say send the pics and see where it goes...of he starts talking about Escrow services or wiring your more money than you are asking with the condition that you wire some back..then clearly it is a scam.

its the way he says it that makes me question it. He's dialouge, choice of words, its sounds ridiculous.

How many dealers you know use the phrase "humbly requests".

It sounds as if he's asking for a pardon, not for pics.

There would be more begging involved if he was asking for a pardon

Play along, hehe. If it is a scam, take this A$$ for a ride. Send him some pics, see what he asks for next, if its your checking acount number, then just send his business my way, I will sell you both some beautiful ocean-front property just outside of Colorado Springs... just kidding around, of course...

Maybe, and this is a possibility, he could be from some background where people talk that way, and doesn't possess what most of us here would deem as normal interpersonal communications skills... I run into these people all the time, most of them being cab drivers...

I would go along until he starts asking for bank routing numbers or something, I mean, he already has your email address and contact info, what harm is send some pics going to do?

He's just asking for pics. He didnt say he's going to wire you $50k and you send the remainder to an offshore account. Maybe he's from a country or an upbringing where he acts politely during a business deal. Send him the pics, if he than starts talking about wiring money or **** like that than forget it

Once he gets the picts your car will be up for sale on ebay.I would say tell the dealer that you won't mind driving the car over to him as long as he lives in the US and see what happens or simply email him that you charge $25 for emailing picts

Trust me it's a ****ing scam.

Not entirely clear what's going on here, but as long as they don't ask for money, what's the harm?

If you're really in a hurry, female friend of mine is dating a guy who owns a small specialty dealership, I could put the two of you together and see if he'll give you a fair price. Only b/c you're a neighbor...

Anytime someone claims to be using an agent to buy a car, a red flag should go up.

be careful - don't forget about the older "cashier's check" scam:

It is a scam, next he will tell you that his client has accepted your price and he is gonna send you a check for an amount much higher of the value of your car, then he is gonna instruct you to wire the money left to an agent who is gonna us it for Sh & H. Don’t do it, if you take that check to the bank they are gonna arrest you cuz is a fake check

                            My 0.2 cents

I'd simply advise him that your solicitor has advised that you can only finalise a deal with somebody that can write in English (or "American" or whatever you call it over there)...
