    18" bbs RK's

Two questions basically! #1 I can get a great deel on 18" bbs RK's 8.5" for my M. I really wanted to go with 17's because they are smaller and tires are cheaper BUT I REALLY WANT RK'S AND NOW. I guess what im trying to get at is will i be able to fit these on my car? I am currently running H&R coilover's with the front adjusted all the way down and the rear with out the adjuster ( also slammed becasue I never receaved them), i have noticed that my tires on my stock front wheels (225 45 17) are about 3 or 4 mm away from rubbing against the height adjuster of the coil over. This is why i am asking if these wheels will fit. will the RK rub or will it clear my suspension. #2 Also will i notice a big diffrence in acceleration. Or will it feel the same as my 17S, due to shedding a few pounds in the front and the back. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    thanks Mario

it should be ok if the offset isn't too aggressive, but you can always heat roll the fenders

about the acceleration thing - I couldn't tell when I have the 18s on, but i'm pretty sure it has decreased a bit due to the added weight of the bigger wheels / tires.

The wheels are 18.5 lbs a wheel, so im saving a decent amount of weight considering the whole unsprung weight factor. i totaly forgot the tire will be heavier though. The main reason i want these wheels is becasue i can get them somewere between 600 and 700 dollars, and i would be a fool not to jump on them, but im all about speed rather than show. i would love the size but i will kick my self in the a$$ if they decrease my acceleration to the point i can tell. after spending $1000's of dollars trying to add a horse or two here and their i would hate to decrease my performance to save $600 on 17s .

oh yea dmose thanks for the praise, buy i just hate having my powder coated calipers and zimmerman cross drilled rotors hidden by this thick rim. Its like jewlery why buy it if its not going to show!

yeah true..if you're getting them for that cheap then definatly jump on them, its just a pleasure to see a nice 'sleeper' m3 looking clean and stock ..you dont see that, that often.

iT'S ALSO NOT JUST THE WEIGHT, BUT THAT THE WEIGHT IS FURTHER FROM THE CENTER OF THE HUB ON AN 18" WHEEL.

SORRY FOR THE CAPS - TYPING AT WORK

Just wanted you to know that I've got 235/35/19s all around with Hamanns, and the "feel" on the road is awesome......AND the car is lowered. But the previous owner did have to heat roll the rears so the tires won't rub.

As far as the decrease in speed.....you won't even notice the difference. eace:

so basically my understanding is that my acceleration wont be effected to the point were can feel it?

The thing i am mostly worried about is my suspension rubbing against the wheels does any one else have H&r coilovers.

The width of wheels is important yes. How come no one has mentioned offset yet as that's what really matters. I wanted to get some HRE's for my car but the rear offset was 33MM, never would've fit.

You'll never know if wheels will fit or not without knowing the offset.
