OK...done deal. We ended up making the deal over the phone and will be flying to Cali. thurs. morning to pick it up and drive it home.



Funny part is that I will have to drive the whole way home myself cause my dad doesn't remember how to drive stick from back in the day. Plus he hates being a passenger.



He won't last 100 miles :ha:

I'm glad it worked out...remember though...if ANYTHING is wrong with the car, you can walk from the deal. IF the item is not as described for whatever reason, the auction is not binding.

Though true, it's not auction based at this point. We made the deal over the phone. So when I get there, I won't pay up unless, like you said, it isn't as described.

I remember that day. Driving home, you are going to be really really impressed with how fast this is in 5th gear on the highway because we don't have a stupid overdrive gear.

Hah...too bad we don't have that 6th gear over-drive. These cars would then probably get really good gas milage.



But I really don't care. I have been driving an 5.2L, All-wheel drive, Jeep Grand Cherokee for two years, sucking down all that gas. When off-roading I only get like 7MPG. Get maybe 14.5MPG during daily driving.

I drive one of those too... it's the dogs. not too bad - if you have bad winters, I'd suggest keeping it around : )

dealers prefer financing as opposed to cash these days. financing means reserve 3-4 points on the back end= more money over all. not to mention people financing worry about payments not the bottom line.

as for the price. it all depends on your area. cars are worth more in specific areas. for instance a m3 in miami beach will probaly bring more then an m in montana. price is really relative, there are good deals and bad deals, good cars and like wise. all i'm saying is don't loose the car you want over a couple of hundred dollars. m3's retain a great deal of there value so i'm sure you'll get your money's worth. i see people buy cars based on price reguarly because of big rebates and other discounts and within a year want out of the car b/c they don't like it. well no **** you don't like it neither did anybody else that's why the rebates or discounts was there in the first place.

Congrats on getting the car. I picked my eBay car up in Florida and drove it back to Colorado 2,000 miles by myself. It was a blast! You'll be so geeked up you won't care.



My advice would be to go to the library and check out some books on tape before you go to get the car. It makes the drive a lot better.
