    Rotors

    Hey guys,

Im sure this is a common question, and ive read over some of the older threads, but couldnt really come to a conclusion about whats best. Im about to buy new rotors all the way around (4), i preffer slotted, but if there is something better that wont crack, ill take it. Ultimately im looking to upgrade my brake likes, and rotors...thats it.

Any suggestions on which rotors and brake lines to get? and from where?

I figure anything is cheaper than my dealership trying to charge me 1200 for the brake job back to stock all the way around....

    Let me know,

    Thanx

I have these for the fronts: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=34112227737

    and OEMs for the rear

they're great on the street and OK with light track use (HPDE). no warping and no weird shakes / shims (unlike a previous set of Brembo cross-drillled rotors)

Get just plain US rotors all around, they can't be beat. If you search on bf.c you will see a place called Great Lakes autoparts, they offer US rotors with axxis ultimates for $250.

So your saying stock rotors with upgraded pads would be an acceptable route for better braking power? I was thinking og going with the stock sized slotted rotors which are pretty cheap, and some upgraded pads with steel lines.

yeah i think thats what im going to endup doing...the powerslot slotted rotors, and the axis brake pads...all 4 shipped for 395

Any other suggestions? are those axis pads good?

If you do alot of track time, maybe get the floaters up front... but the us rotors are more than enough. They just look like poo.

US rotors are fine for serious tracking. You won't gain anything from slotted or cross drilled rotors. Floaters are nice, but you can buy 2x the US rotors for a set of floaters.

You'll actually lose performance with the Brembo cross drilled rotors on the track (I know they came on my car) due to they cool faster around the holes meaning they cool unevenly and are more prone to cracking and failure. (that's all a bad thing)

how does cooler brakes mean loss in performance, i thought cooler brakes meant they were less prone to warping?

When the brakes cool unevenly (the spots closest to the holes or under the holes will cool far faster then the areas farthest from the holes) leading to warping and rotor fracturing.

where are you getting these? i heard hawk brake pads were good, when you say US rotors are you saying the oem ones? or is that a entirely different brand?

Hawk HPS pads and the axis Ultimates are basically the same thing. For brakes go to adrenaline racing at www.adrenalineracing.com or call and talk to eddie.
