    Schrick Cam kit++

    To anyone who has gone this route before, would the car be a totally different feel from stock if the only mods I did toward making more power were the Schrick Camshaft upgrade Kit, and a light weight crank pulley.

    Then go with the Bilstein / H&R Suspension Kit, an X-Brace, and a new brake kit for the suspension and braking. After all that, throw on a Short Shift kit for good measure. Does this seem like a smart route or would I need something else to really complete the package, such as an exhaust. I don't really care about the sound of the exhaust so I wouldn't buy it unless neccesary to have with the Cam kit.

      Do you both have 95 M3s?

      The reason I ask is becase the cam kit for your cars is actually a pretty substantial power bump for $1600, but it includes software, and you need to have the euro HFM and larger filter installed which will retail around $700-900, but that can also be found on the used market for substantially less. Instead, you might want to consider the entire kit which is available at Turner for $2399, and that includes

      Our top-of-the-line engine upgrade for the 1995 M3 produces and additional 57 horsepower! A Conforti Cold-Air Intake with larger European mass air sensor, Schrick camshafts, 24lb fuel injectors, and a specially-calibrated performance chip deliver extraordinary output.

      I have seen dyno numbers for this kit, and the whp and TQ is substantial, approaching the 250 whp mark with great TQ. For example:

      This is the result of the JC Cam kit on an American 95 M3 with the only other addition being an Eisenmann Race exhaust.

      It wouldn't feel totally different from stock, just a whole lot more powerful. :ha:

      One more thing - If you decide to piece the kit together, and just get the cams, then you will have to then start buying all of the pieces of the kit one after the other anyway. In the end it is easier to just buy the upgrade package and install it all at once. From what I understand, the 95 M3 with just the cams added and no software or larger intake does not respond well to the mod. With cams, it is pretty much all or nothing, done right, or not at all.
