How many miles would you allow?

I'm in the market for a E36 M3. I found one for about 13,000 with 102k miles on it. Is that a little too much? Any problems I should check out while I'm at it? Thanks, I'm new to the BMWs. Thanks.

Mileage alone isn't going to dictate the price. What year is it? Is it bone stock, type of title, any upgrades, condition of car, where is it being sold from (i.e., rust in beach cities or snow).....lots more.

Any pics of the car that you're buying? Is it an eBay auction???

Give some more details, and we'll see.

It is sold at a dealership by my friend's work in Clairemont. It's in San Diego, from the looks of it, it is a 1995 M3 that is bone stock. Body is still clean. I am going to look at it today.

Since it's here in SoCal, mileage can be subjective.....I bought my '95 last September with 117k miles, but the previous owner put alot of highway miles on it driving to and from school at Cal State Fullerton. But there was absolutely nothing wrong with this car. It had a !@#$load of upgrades and it's been garaged its whole life. Price tag: $16k.

I was willing to pay a little more due to the condition, upgrades, and overall performance for an 8 yr old (at the time) car.

Take some pics, and let us know how your inspection went in SD. eace:

Well, it turned out to be a bunch of little things that were messed up on the m3. The dealer told me that I owed a little high on my car('03 Civic Si) and that he would not be able to finance it. Anyone know of a dealer willing to work with me for a '95 M3? I fell for the power and smoothness but I'm wondering if the guy wasn't willing to sell it because of what I owed on the car. Please if anyone knows of a dealer that's willing to work with me on this, that'd be great. Also, is there a difference between OBDI and OBDII M3? Thanks.

Mileage isn't important to me, condition and history is.
