nc59dude, If you get an ultralite Carbon Fibre gunrack for your truck then you might be able to lower your times even more!!! BTW, if you can afford your stylin JEEP, you can afford an E36 M3...It appears as though it is not money that you lack, but taste. Have fun in the mud ee: .

Hmmm... find one in NC for me to run, and I will. Make that case Corona in nature. haha. You guys need to open your minds to the possibility that some vehicles lacking a BMW symbol can be fast. Look up the specs. They really aren't shabby. I can run down the lower of the 2 Porsche Cayans(sp). Never had the opportunity to race a X5..

my A4 can run in the rain...

      it lacks a BMW symbol...

it'll open your mind to the possibility that your 5.9L CAN get pwned...

I never said my Jeep can't be taken. But it seems like the M3's are mostly for the twisties, not the drag. I had seriously expected to lose those races, it's just around here no one ever stretches these cars legs. But I figured a race might tempt one enough to run.

Just FYI, b/c most of you probably didn't even take the time to look up the specs, and assume every Jeep has a 4.0L and similar performance. The 1998 JGC 5.9 (the only year these were made) runs 1/4 in 14.8-.9 stock. Being that these M3's run it in what? 14.4? The fact that it was rainin is enough for me to beat one.

Damn yall... oh and if you wanna say ok lets go in the twisties, we'll do that, then go off road.

Meh.. I thought this topic woulda been dead by now but oh well. For the record, I'm not trying to bash on M3's. I like em. ****, my sis has a 01 330i that I'm envious as hell of. I didn't mean to come off soundin like an ass, but seriously, yall need to take a step back and open your minds. But to each his own. (I'll be taking both one day)

OH and for that guy that'll pop up and say let's see modded vs. modded. There are a few of the 5.9's runnin 11's. I don't care who you are, that's fast.

I just wanted to come on this site and warn you guys. If you see a Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ the 5.9L emblem, don't race him... hahah.. especially if its raining. You will get smoked. haha.

But yeah.. beat yall to 60 where I shut it down. Gotta say tho, after that that sombish pulls like a mother to 100 (this is why i know he was racing... cuz it was a 45 zone to begin w/ and looked pissed... lol).

BTW: Raced 3 times and same results each time.

            That is all.

The 0-60 time on the 5.9 Jeep is around 6.8 second and a 1/4 mile of 15.2. While these are respectable numbers for an SUV, it's not even close to the M3. The M3 runs 5.5 and 13.9.

              From Motortrend:

Jeep 5.9 Limited (Motor Trend Jan/98):

              0-50 - 4.90 sec.

              0-60 - 6.80 sec.

              0-70 - 9.20 sec.

              60-0 Braking - 126.00 ft.

              1/4 Mile - 15.20 sec.

              Slalom - 58.40 mph

              Skidpad - 0.74 g
