Dinan Computer Question

As long as it's the same year M3 (OBD2), can I use the computer from another M3?



Is there a way to tell whether a computer has a Dinan download in it? Would a Dinan dealer be able to look it up to tell me?



Where is the computer box?

The DME is behind a small compartment in the right, back section of the engine bay. Behind the positive jumper box and the aux air pump.

You could use the computer but your dealer needs to re align the security system to your VIN.

Is there a way for a Dinan dealer to check to see if it has the download in it? Also, when you said that they have to re align the security system, what are the chances that they will wipe out the Dinan programing and reload the factory programing with my security system just so that the computer will work?
