    Best Tire for our M3's

I have seen this topic many times and I just replaced my Pilot Sports with Goodyear F1 GS-D3's and I have to say the biggest improvement is ride and quietness. The response is at least as good and I do want to see what they will do at the track...but, the car feels like it has a new suspension. I cannot believe how much more comfortable it is to drive.

I almost bought PS2's and I am sure they are good tires but if your car is a daily driver than you have to go with the GREAT american product of the Goodyear...at least the company is based in America...not sure if the tire is made here?

    Any dissenters?

I am going to order theses for my new rims....

Pretty good rating, figured I would give them a try.

Almost identical to the pilots. And for what its worth, in my book, pilots are over priced heh.

I agree with u T2 , there exactly the same in the wet as in the dry. Simply an amazing tyre and at a good price.

So3's are great for the 15000 miles they last.

The D3's are made in Germany. Generally any new tire will improve the ride and noise characteristics over the old rubber. My brother runs D3's on his Miata and has driven 5 track days. Even wear right across. I'll probably give them a try for my next Tires. My S03's are showing negligible wear after 6,000 miles. I am pretty sure they will make it to 20K.

Against my advice my dad bought the Goodyear Eagle F1's GS-D3 tires for his 968. I absolutely hate them. He had SO-2's before and they were soooo much better. I bought Yokohama AVS Sports and I love them (no question I will buy them again). Awesome in every catagory. Very responsive, excellent grip and progressiveness, quiet (as far as max performance rubber goes), and amazing in the wet. I can drive much harder than I am comfortable while it's raining and have complete control of the car. That's my vote.

The F1's are made in Thailand. Go figure. They're still good anyway. I've got 'em on the front of my '97 M3 and Yokohamas on the rear. They work.

Do any rear tires last longer than 15k? My Pilot Sport A/S tires died after 15k and they have a 400 treadwear rating.

Looks good for the price. How long did they last you or how many miles do you have on them now?
