    Our Clutch's lifespan

Just curious how long they usually go for. I know this will depend on individual car and driving style but I'm just after a rough estimate for normal everyday driving..... Nothing too rough but nothing too boring either. Thanks.

Some people make it to 100k+ on the original and sometimes they die out around 60k.

I'm at 73k and no probs.

Just changed mine at 65k miles. I've only had the car 5k miles, and I'm not that hard on it, so I'm thinking the previous owner was a little rough.

I don't think mine was replaced before, but I'm the second owner... 110k was about it's life span, but I think it had some hard driving...

103K on the original...I baby her pretty good though and she isn't slipping. I reckon before long I'll be putting a new one in though.

This is good to hear, because I got my car with a new clutch installed hehe.

Although I tend to drive agressively, and have done the occasional power shift, I drive normally.. once I remove my CDV, there should be less wear too.

That CDV isn't on OBD1 cars, is it?

I would think it has more to do with how you use it than anything. If you ride the clutch on a hill instead of using you breaks you will wear it out faster, if you granny shift then it will last longer, if you redline at every light and do pop the clutch into 2nd then you are going to wear it out faster.

146,000 miles on the origional clutch unless it was replaced in the 34,000 before i bought it (CPO). Still feels tight but 90% of my driving is highway.

mine has 100K and is being replaced this week although I haven't looked through records to see if it was replaced previously.

wait, so E36 does have a clutch delay valve, I never even knew that. I thought only the E39 5 series had them. If so does anyone have a write up on the removal, what is the difference like? alot or not?
