EUROTUNER mag is doing a M3 all motor project car

I was reading a copy of Eurotuner and I noticed that they said they were going to see just how much HP they could ring out of a M3 without power adders such as turbo, nitrous, or s/c. did anyone else see this. Has anyone seen an article describing the project car yet? I only have one issue and I am not sure which month it is. I am thinking that as long as it is not a 95 i might just get a subscription so i can follow their progress as i am wanting to put in cams and do a portjob with big intake valves this winter, if i can find a buyer for my 2000 Kawasaki ZRX1100.

Well when is it coming out?

Just today I was reading some European car magazine (I think the title was European Car or something) with a bunch of GTI's on the front. Anyway, inside they have a black E36 ('98 i think) in which they were turbocharging. They ended up with like 380hp to the rear wheels.

It was a pretty good read.

They won't get much without forced induction. They'll get results similar to what some of our memebers here have gotten.

If you guys read the older issues/articles about that Vader ///M, you'll see they had mad problems tuning that car. They were a bit gung-ho about it and had some bad luck, but the author at one point made a joking reference to "..my wife would divorce me if she found out how much money I've dumped into that car" or something like that. Almost sounds like he's dumping personal money into the car..not sure how that all works. The thing is a beast but it was tons of money. It's a good read though, so if you can get back issues, check them out.

y doesn't ne 1 just attach 2 m3 engines 2gether and then plant it in the M3 - hence cheap alternative to a mclaren f1 engine.

its a small word with a big presence.. its WEIGHT.. if u add another motor to this chassis and put it on a track, u won't be able to keep up.. no ?...

as for the article.. i hope this is true.. i would love to read it and try and keep up with the mods.. would be a wonderful experience.. i have looked at both the FI and NA.. and it seems that if i want this engine to last for a long time then im going to have to stay NA.. also.. it would be interesting to see if they do the crank pulley mod.. anyways.. im rambling.. can' t wait.. woot!

well, a high output NA can destroy an engine just as quickly as FI, because of the high compression (12:1 or 12.5:1) there gonna have to run to get good HP outta the engine

I think there is alot more NA power to be had out of hte M3 then just a JC cam kit and etc. If the motor is taken apart more is to be had. the only real issue is longevity, if they can make a motor that is capable of 50K+ miles on say 11.0-11.5 compression ratio and completely reengineer the intake side of the E36 m3 i think that euro M3 numbers are possible NA, maybe more who knows.

                          Actually it's a '95 M3. And since it's a 3.2 OBDI with a stage 3 turbo I would say it would have 400+ rwhp easily.
