    Swapping out E36 Steering Wheel

Ok this may sound cheezy but hear me out. I recently rode in a e46 330i performance package...I absolutely loved the Alcantara clad steering wheel. Would it be possible to swap out the steering wheel in an 36 M3 for the E46 Alcantara clad wheel? Do they make an Alcantara steerig wheel for the e36 M3?

You're not the first to want to do this, for sure. I've heard that fitting an E46 wheel onto the E36 isn't exactly an easy task. A lot has to be done to make it work... but it *has* been done (as far as I know). As for an E36 alcantra wheel, BMW doesn't make one, but I'm sure you could find a 3rd party one somewhere.

I'm sure that you could buy a cover that you can place over your wheel (like Katskin or something simular).

They do lots of custom work as far as I know. Shoot them an email or give them a call.

There is an OEM BMW part for an Alcantara steering wheel for the e36 with an airbag... damn expensive though...

You need to order the part from the last production run of the M3 GT.

Edit: You'll probably need to order this from a European distributor (not the UK).

Do you have a part number or picture of this M3 GT Steering Wheel?

As far as I know, the e36 m3 never came with an alcantara wheel. M3AN, do you have a pic of the GT wheel? I've never seen a GT with a alcantara wheel.
