i am looking at getting a black 98 bmw m3. I have found one i am interested in in my area but would still like to know a little more information about these cars. I live in the US so it will be a US spec M3. I hear that M3's have high maintenance and running costs, can someone go more in depth about why the cost is so high. Also how is the reliability of these cars when they are well cared for. When i purchase my M3 is there anythign in particular i should look for? i am going to get a compression and leakdown test before i purchase the vehicle. What is the average quarter mile time for a stock m3. I noticed after reading numerous threads on this website that they vary from high 13's to 15's but have noticed your guyses cars are somewhat modified. Any other advice or information would be greatly appreciated. Glad to be a new member!
