    OBDI Manifold Heat Issues?

I have had the OBDI manifold on my 96 and I'm wondering if the manifold is hot to the touch after driving the car. And I mean very hot. The OBDII manifold seemed quite cool how I remember it. I'm wondering if I should be worried, because if it isn't suppose to be like this the obdII is going back in until I can get it remedied.

My intake manifold gets hot too, it's on an OBDI though...How hard were you driving it when you noticed the temp?

I am just going to assume that you're not talking about the exhaust manifold.

They are made of the same plastic, its in your mind. They will be the same temp.

My obd2 manifold didn't seem as hot after a drive. Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but since I changed to obd1 i've noticed that the manifold is very hot and stays hot for quite some time after shutting the car down.

Sirius, I'm not sure about that exhaust manifold either, if you could do me a favor and run your car pretty hard and take a firm grasp of your exhaust manifold and tell me if its warm or not, that will be very helpful. Thanks.

Why would it be hotter than the OBDII manifold?

Okay. I assume you're going to cover the cost of the plastic surgery bill for my hand then correct?

Hehe. But really though... I don't see how the tempature would be any different....

See I don't know why either. And I think that mine runs really hot, and takes forever to cool down. I remember reading somewhere that the intake manifold was never more than 9 degree's hotter than the outside air on the m3... and mine's gotta be 130 degrees at least.

                        Get a thermometer on it...

lets try this again. Why would it be hotter? Its made of the same materials. I think there are much more important things to worry about, than if your intake manifold is hotter now or with the OBDII on it.
