new guy and a few q's

i just purchased my first bmw today ( dakar yellow 95 m3 ) and its nice but just dosent seem up to par. i drove hondas and acuras for the past 5 years so im new to this scene. i noticed my idle missing here and there like a light chug is this normal and my window on the driver side seems like its bad. it will go up then start going back down about a 1/4 way up im thinking about getting it all checked out or taking it back to see wat the dealer can do also i just wanted to say hi and hopfully ill learn alot from this forum

sounds like u might need a tuneup. check ur sparkplugs, wires, and all other ignition stuff. if that doesnt fix it check the engines compression make sure all cylinders are even. good luck

maybe ur air filter is dirty. or something else in the intake path

The windows are known to give people hard times. Its probably the sensor in the motor thats gone bad.



Does the car only idle rough on a cold start?

some kind of tuneup.. either its missing (spark plug) , O2 sensor, or even fuel filter..

no just inspected...... it runs strong wen its moving. just at idle its rough and thanks. i was thinking it was a spark plug too or maybe just bad gas. Also i used to drive a honda with a redline of 9 grand (ctr engine swap with minor bolt on's) wat is the exact redline for the e36 m3 i read 6000 but that seems low it looks as if its 7000 on the tach? thanks, and dont rape me on that last question
