Will rear shock replacement fix shock mounting bracket problem

I'm hearing a noise symptomatic of a broken rear shock mount (according to other threads posted here). My car has 80K miles on it and needs shock replacement anyways.

    1. Do new shocks include shock mounting bracket? Or is this a part I'll need to order from BMW?

    2. How much does shock mounting bracket replacement cost? parts+labor.

    thanks in advance,

    Carl

New shocks come as that, just the shock. The mount is seperate.

If you're going to get new ones, alot of people jump up to the E46 mounts with the Z3 reenforcement plates.

    Not sure of cost.

      (thanks Trevor)

So, the E46 mounts w/Z3 plates fit an E36 out of the box? What shocks do you recommend?

Really depends on the ride you're looking for. Me personally, I like the stock setup, which is what I run. You can get bisteins, but thats a slightly rougher ride. Theres others, but I can't remember them off the top of my head right now.

Hey I hate to ressurect this thread but I can't find a vendor that will sell the boge or sachs shocks for an M3. Will I have to go through a dealer?
