    Slippery steering wheel

OK, the steering wheel and the shift knob in my '99 are quite slippery and it is rather annoying not to mention unsafe. Anyone know of a solution to this aside from totally replacing the leather/vinyl material on the wheel?

    :hmm: :hmm:

Clean off all of your man-goo from them? Maybe Alcohol to dry them out, then a leather treatment to re-treat them?

i bet your hands are too dry, wash your hands more often to keep them hydrated.

other than that, try treating the leather.

Clean the wheel with some shout... that will also brighten up the threads, but shout is designed to remove that organic crap from your hands. Then leather condition it.

Haha, I was betting on a reply along those lines.

I am going to order some Leatherique so we'll see if that helps. In the meantime I'll give Shout a try.

I used shout, a toothbrush and some soapy water to clean the wheel off. Then after that dried put some leather conditioner on.

I had the same problem. I ended up wrapping it with a leather steering wheel wrap. I know thats not the answer you wanted but it much safer for me
