Hello,
I've just joined the forum but have lurked for a few weeks.
Our M3 has been in out possession for almost 3 years now and in January I took over primary driving duties from my wife.
We bought it because my wife wanted a car to play with, both driving and modding. Heck I'm not going to complain!
We bought it completely stock with just a few minor issues that ended up getting us a better deal on it but nothing a little TLC and money couldn't take care of.
It's a 1995 Avus Blue with Champagne interior with the Luxury package and Automatic tranny (remember this was my wife's car
)
First thing we did, actually the first day of ownership, was install a Turner Motorsports chip. What a difference. We also took care of most of the other minor issues and a full detailing
Brakes were needed so we upgraded them with Powerslots and Pagid pads. We also added some cosmetics such as clear corners that we smoked out and did the sidemarkers as well. The tails were a birthday present.
A blowout on one of the replica M Contour wheels and lack of a spare made us lean toward a set of new shoes: 17x8 Flik Lex with Falken ST115 rubber. Before our first Driving School, a new H&R/Bilstein suspension with new mounts was installed to make it handle that much better at the Barber Motorsports Park. A Home Depot Special Cold Air Intake allows a bit more breath in the beast as well as a nice new growl. And this was all done while my wife was driving it!
Under my tenure, I haven't added much. The Contours are wrapped in Hoosier race tires for track days where we share the ride. I also added the exhaust manifolds from a late model E36 328 that had disintegrated the motor to replace the cast iron stock mainfolds. I also added a front tag to cover up the ugly holes. Future plans include an exhaust and other suspension goodies.
Here's a pic as it sits right now
