Stock Radio Static ?

Well my radio i think finally died. Its getting static just about everywhere although some spots it still works.



I figure this will be a good time to get the Alpine CDA-9827.



Will switching out the headunit fix my static problems or could there be another problem as to way i'm picking up static ?

Could be another problem. The antenna thats in the back glass hooks to a 'diode', as BMW likes to call it. I believe thats used to boost the signal into the sound system.



I would still get the headunit, I got the same one, it rules. Put the stock unit to shame.

hmm... I hope its just the head unit. How much that gong to cost to get that rear antenna fixed ? If it is on its way out.

No idea how much that part is or if its the cause. Just one of the things it 'could' be.

You should get a satellite radio and you'll never worry about static again
