    some handling issues.

ever since getting my rear shocks replaced the car just doesn't seem right. My tires were not wearing correctly.

the right front was good, right rear very worn out, left rear very worn out and the left front also worn out.

    These where michelin A/S

I now have GoodYear Eagle GSD3

I've gotten alignment done at firestone and tires mounted and balanced over at sears. And it still feels off.

I want to check it out at BMW and may get everything redone at their place.

Should I submit the car to a thorugh check of the suspension ? How would I go about doing that ? How much would a check like that cost ?

My mechanic said that it was possible that my car may have been in an accident before but that doesn't expalin why it drove perfectly and beatiful until after the rear shocks went out.

    thanks,

    mike

What is the mileage of your car? If the rear are wearing very fast w/ high mileage it is the rear to alignment bushings mounted to the lower trailing arm. If the rear are wearing on the inside it is called negative camber that is normal and what makes BMWs handle so well. The front tires on all E36 M3s and pretty much all of the line up will wear on the outside (good turn in) also good handling. BMWs go through tires fast 15-35k is normal.

I've got about 100,000 miles on the car. As for the wear numbers i'm not too sure. I think i have the paper in my car along with my sears recipt. I"ll post the wear numbers tmw.

Just bothering me since the car although feels a lot more steady than before still doesn't seem like its up to par.

With new shocks, you either have bad bushings and or linkages or an improperly done alignment. Accident is unlikely if it once drove well.Don't stop till it drives perfect.

Except the Euro... they wear on the inside by default.

              Agreed.

I would check your control arm bushshings and your rtabs. When your rtabs start going, the rear end feels like it wants to go sideways at times.
