haha just the other day i was getting my driver side window tint replaced cause it had peeled at the bottom a little. at a random stop sign 4 minutes away from my house a cop was checking registration and handing out random tickets to people. he stopped and told me to roll down my window ( but i couldnt of course ) so i was forced to open the door. i lied and said my windows were broken; he boought it but than he asked were my front plate was, i told him it was in my trunk and he just let me drive off :-P

Yeah that's crazy, but if you are on a public street, you are fair game. I agree the car looks better w/o the plate up front, but didn't want to chance tickets. For the first month after my move to VA, I kept the plate in the window or the trunk.
I didn't like any of the stuff I saw at auto shops, and wasn't about to drill into the fender. I ended up getting a front license plate bracket kit from Bavarian Auto. It's really clean, and looks good. It's a bit pricey, but worth it. I have no affiliation with them.

I know that in Los Angeles and Orange County they charge you $25 for not having the front license plate. It is a fix it ticket but it still costs you $10 for fees so why waist time and fight it just pay it and get it over with, what are the chances you'll get ticketed again?. I know our tax collectors "COPs" are out there raking in what ever monies they can find. You got to remember the holidays are here and they need their commission to pay for their toys so if they stop for a car they are going to stack up whatever bogus charges they can find
