Dealer installed security system on 99 M3

I am new to this forum and just got my 99 Silver M3 with 27,000 miles. My first question... I have the dealer installed security system, but when I arm/disarm the alarm, the parking lights do not flash. Is this normal? or is there a way to program it to make it flash? Also, is there a way to adapt the system to do window up/down?

    thanks for the help!

I don't think the parking lights flash nor do the windows roll up/down. At least mine doesn't.

You can't get the windows to go up/down, and the parking lights don't flash when you arm/disarm the system. You can't program that in either.

Mr. 13.5K posts (!!) is right again! Only thing you can do I think is make it silent, or chirp.

Oh, and there's no motion detection either. I'm OK with that since the main reason I wanted was keyless entry, but some really hate the lack of that security feature.

Silver with only 27K miles, huh? Nice, give us more details, and some pics.

What you stated is normal, BUT any good alarm installer will be able to flash your parking lights as you arm/disarm and allow you to roll up your windows.

probably, but how many relays would an installer have to setup to get a single trigger to do lights flash, window rollup, window roll down, etc. sounds tricky

I know! I got a smokin deal from my uncle. Low miles and CLEAN!!! I'll post some pics when I get a chance to take some. Bone stock, so lots of mods to come.

Great Forum btw.. got lots of great ideas

Rofl. Thats the main reason I got the alarm, for the keyless. My led actually stopped working on me though. :banghead:

The 96+ alarms do have a glass breakage sensor though, its located on the control module. When you install the control module, you're supposed to cut a hole in the bottom panal under the glove box and mount the control module to that panal, with the holes for the sensor facing out.

I didn't bother with that mess. I tie strapped it up in some dead space I found under there and moved on.
