Power steering hose $$$ any substitutes?

Hey, so yesterday my car was running fine and four hours later (w/o being driven) my power steering hose is leaking like crazy. Ive gone to autozone, napa, and pep boys nobody has this hose. Im guessing the dealership will charge a grip of money for it. Does anyone know where to find it cheap? Thanks.

Alot of people make their own out of a basic clamp similar to one that is used to connect your coolant hoses, and high pressure hydrolic hoses.

Check your independent mechanic, I purchased one for about $80.00 because of the wierd connections.

Chafuro- same thing just happened to me. The tube coming off of the power steering reservior was leaking like crazy. I got the hose from the Stealership, and it wasn't that expensive. Call them before you go anywhere else. I posted a thread about this earlier last week, titled Power Steering Gone. in the thread Sirius posted a diagram of the power steering system. check it out...

thanks, i callled the dealership and they quoted me $44 on the hose. I think it is called resevoir to rack hose. I don't know how the hose fits into the trumpet looking like brass fitting though. Any input?

Curious...has anyone solved this issue by just tightening the clamp to this hose a bit?

I tried that, but the I noticed a big hole in the hose and figured it wouldn't work. But I did replace the hose, and it is all good now
