    replacing subwoofer? need help.

    Hello all,

My husband bought me a new sub for my car and I have no idea how to get the old one out. The old one blew and I did get it unplugged, it's been that way for 3 months now.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks,

    Alli

imguessing its in its own box? if so then there should be screws around the outside of it, if they arent visible, they may be behind the rubber around the outside, try peeling back the rubber very easily, if it doesnt go easily, dont force it, how bout some specs on the sub? Brand/Type?

The woofer is the original stock HK. There are no screws that we can see. I don't remember seeing rubber either. Husband said there were brackets of some sort but it's cold here and it started snowing when he started looking at it. I'll take a pic tomorrow and post them.

Right now I'm not sure what type/specs. He went to the local guy here and spoke to him about it. Told the guy I'm just looking to replace, not ready to upgrade too much. I did put in a new head until right after I got the car. Alpine, nice. But the sound sucks without the sub in the back. No bass.

Your car looks festive Sirius. I like it. Whose eyes do you have? I've got Matts, put them in last Christmas. Present to myself! Are you near Manasses Park? There's a guy there that has hard tops and I've been looking for one. I was thinking of taking a ride down 2 weeks from now.

Are you talking about the stock HK speakers in the rear deck? If so, then the grill inside the car pops out by pulling towards the front of the car, then up. Then there are 3 screws to get the speaker assembly to come out. Be careful as it may fall into the trunk.

If you have another type of sub, then it is not stock.

Are you talking about the metal grill between the seats? I didn't try to take that out because it looked like it was in there solid. I did get the plastic grill out that covered the sub in the trunk.

I'll try it. And yes, it's stock.

            Thanks

Do you have a picture of this? Do you have an M3 or M Coupe? Unless you have a sedan and you are talking about the covering for the ski pass through, then I have no idea what you are talking about between the seats.

              Good luck.

Thanks, I don't know much about the sub in a vert. Didn't even realize they had a different setup.
