How much to convert E36 US to Euro Spec

Anyone try this yet? What kinda costs, parts, labor, headache, etc., involved?

From what I have heard, a Euro engine alone is in the realm of $12,000. Labor is gonna get you after that. You might want to think about F/I instead. Or check bimmerforums, I saw something about an LS-1 engine swap...

:hmm: I won't lie, I have thought about it before as well. But just get a supercharger, you'll save a hell of alot of money.

You can pick up a euro motor and trans for $10k, then figure 2k just in extras. If you want a full euro swap then you will want to swap the rear subframe, and diff.

Its much easier to just buy the cam kit.

Or install a supercharger system and make 360-400 hp.

                Hey legrena,

It is my understanding that James Clay at Bimmerworld is capable of doing this job (motor & wiring harness campatability issues at least) for paying customers. I believe BMWCCA club racer Ike Neilsen also sompleted the task and races same. I personally declined this modification due to costs & potential headaches after deciding that my 97 M3/4 w/ minor mods is the right set of compromises for me.

SG_M3 I just realized your car is green. I've been seeing your sig pic for a long time and now I realized your car is green. All this time I thought it was black.
