    Driveline Failure?

Has anyone here suffered any driveline(transmission, drive axle, rear end diff, etc.) failures?

I only want part(s) failure info from the transmission back to the rear end diff. eace:

Please post ANY part(s) that failed any what you did to fix it.

Did anyone upgrade to a better/stronger aftermarket solution?

I want to know about all E36 M3's, from completely stock as well as ones that have 'mods'.(including turbo/supercharged setups)

My search results did not give me a clear picture as to what part or parts appear to be the weakest link.

    Let's here your experiences guys.

Please note weather or not you modified/upgraded anything in the driveline prior to the failure.

I need this information because I am thinking about spending a large amount of cash on engine upgrades soon. I'm trying to get a feel as to which parts fail most often.

Thanks in advance to everyone who replies.

I have seen the driveline on a BMW fail once. It was on an E30.

The guibo gave out and the driveshaft put an 8" hole in the floor next to the drivers leg.

Other than that, I have never seen a driveline fail except when a car was hit really hard.

I would think that Guibo gave at least a week's worth of warning before that happened.

on my M3 Evolution(complety stock except for GT cosmetics) the rear sub carrier mouting cracked clean in two as did the rear diff mount(its hollow cast iron and shattered)

Both due to driving like a spag, doing dounuts and launching @ 7000rpms! OUCH !
