engine problems?!?!?!

i was cruzin on some nice contry back road pushing my car pretty hard and coming at an end of a straight away my engine started to rattle and the rpm'

s were staggering so i let off the gas and it stalled. i looked down and my check engine light and airbag light went on. i stated the car again and she went but it was really rough. so i took it slow and the rough shaking only was sevir at low rpm ( about to 3000) after is would smooth out. then it slowly got smooth and about a 2 miles down the road everythign was fine again besides my check engine light and air bag light on..... can any one explain this??????

Probably a sensor going bad, possibly a cam shaft sensor or a crankshaft sensor. Could be misfiring also.



Get the fault memory read out to find out the exact cause.



The airbag light could be a couple things, most common issue is passenger occupency sensor or one of the belt buckle sensors.

i'm fairly new with my m... could you explain what the fault memory read out is? aslo is there a way to turn off the check engine light or does it have to be reset by a tech?

go to a dealership and have them put it on the scanner, they will tell you exactly what is wrong
