Backside of Palomar Mt. Front is too slow with too many jackasses on bikes. I know a bunch of other fast roads around Fallbrook, hit me up via email if you want to go driving one of these days (more then happy to show you some great roads).
It's funny because we say the same thing about you cagers...lol. But yeah on weekends it's not worth going there. One of the reasons why I stopped riding hard on the street. Weekdays on the other hand is the best time to go to Palomar to ride/drive "relatively hard".

When I lived in Orange county we would always hit up the canyon roads. The north side of LA has some great ones out off of PCH towards the Santa Barabara area.
In the southern part of LA, I cant remember the name of it, but there is the Toll Road that goes from Yorba Linda over to Irvine. Its the 241 or 261 I think. Off of that there are some great back roads t hrough Weir Canyon and on Santiago Canyon Road.
Highway 2 through the Angeles National Forest is a great road, but crowded at times.

76, North of Escondido on off of I-15 East. Take Palomar mt S6. Very fast, very twisted, very crazy!! Then go down to Borrego Springs, and then on down to the Salton Sea (find out the top end).
Palomar is famous for ****-rockets crashing every weekend.
Avoid Palomar on the weekends, it is full of bikes. I crashed twice up there myself before I realized it is safer and more fun on a track. There is a fast side and a slow side. Lets of fund driving out there. I would definatly be up for a group drive one day.
