    will a 96-99 valve cover fit a 95?

stupid question, but i'm wondering if a 96-99 3.2 valve cover will fit on the 95 3.0??

also, for our hoods, all that underhood padding seems like it would trap heat and what not. is there any gain to taking it off?? (i.e. less weight by maybe a couple of ounces and less heat trapped in the engine bay)

The padding keeps sound down, heat in and asorbs heat so the hood doesn't become extremely hot.

nah wont work oil caps in the back of the 95s they moved it up front for the newer guys. Ill make a carbon one for ya in eather year (this one is right off the mold no trimming or polishing done)

well, i'm actually talking about if it's possible to switch the actual metal valve cover, not the black plastic cover on top of it.

well, benfer performance does sandblasting & powdercoating but charges $110 or so plus i have to ship my core to them. i was thinking if i found someone's used 96-99 valve cover, i would'nt have to get mine sandblasted & powdercoated, i could probably get it for much less than benfer performance charges and that way i can just bolt on the newer & better looking, 3.2 valve cover. plus, i like the 96-99 ///M oil caps and it's somewhat more convenient since the oil cap is near the front of the car, instead of back near the firewall.

                  yes you can do it.

i did it on my 3.2 odb1 conversion.

pm me or aim me (bmw serious) and i can show u how to get around the crank case vent.

engine bay looks so much better with the black valve cover y0!
