Hmm...is the box bolted onto the dome?

I live in Thailand. The used 6 MT/cluch unit costed me approx. 1,500 US$. Came from a wracked M3 in Japan I think. Labor here is CHEAP guys. May be 100 US$ for the job.

I think only MODIC III can read SMG's ROM.

NPower, I emailed mhenry_au, but got no reply yet. I've been to Thailand many times, but didn't notice there's M3 EVO there. I tried the junk yard in HK but there isn't many 6 MT gearbox/clutch around. If you have more pic about yours 6MT EVO, can u email to me at [email protected]

Also, how u get the 6MT unit from Japan? would be pls if u can let me know via email....tks

Now it's getting worse. After the take off of the SMG oil storage box, it seems like some air had gotten into the SMG system that causes the SMG oil can't get thru to the clutch.

My garage had tried to hook up the TIS with my car, and try to get all uncecessary air out of the SMG unit.

After that being done, the gear can be engaged and the car can run except that the following

1) the engagement of reverse gear had a huge 'gearing in engage' sound came out

2) after the car cool down after drive, the 1st gear cannot be engaged again

3) when shift from Neutral to 1st Gear, the display seesm to have delayed by approx 3-4 seconds, which seems abnormal to me, becos before the first gear will light up instantely after the shift level is pulled.



I am not sure what's wrong right now, and I am so desperate to seek some help. My local garage sucks and they don't have idea of what to do. It suggested me to replace the whole SMG Hydralic Unit, which I think it's not my fault to make it malfunction. If you were me, what will do do? Pls gimme some advices.....tks :bow:
