Hey guys,
I finally got the EVO3 + DSSR + UUC TME setups last week in the mail from Chris at Understeer.com (thanks again!). I am still trying to fix my driveline problems so I figured I might as well get the best shift kit out there. The kit comes with everything needed and it is honestly the finest piece of aftermarket enginnering I have seen. Everything is machined to perfection and I was impressed at how tight the tolerances were and it was clear UUC spent a lot of time engineering the piece. The install was actually pretty straight forward, Desert tech auto in Tucson did the work for me. All the pieces are excellent in fit and precision. I was very happy with the quality.
After installation I took it out for a drive. VERY impressed. The shifts are more mechanical and I supposed you could call it “notchy” but it does not necessarily require much more effort than a understeer SSK, slighty more but not much. I am very happy with the fit. The shifts are great and I like the **** handle position a lot more and since its adjustable I can always change it later if I like. 3rd and 4th are pretty much perfect in engagement, 2nd is much smoother. 1st is still tough to get into but I think that is internal issue. I feel like the clutch engagement may be whats causing the rest of my problems. I have gone up and down the entire drive line trying to perfect it but I finally realized that its down to either my throw-out bearing or the internals of my tranny. I do have redline in the tranny but I think I may switch over to royal purple b/c ex-redline users switched over to royal purple and said It was even better so I may do that. Hopefully that will help out a bit.
Quality: 10 / 10
Fit & precision : 9.5 / 10
Looks : 10/10
Engineering: 10/10
I couldn’t be happier. I retract any previous statements in the past about saying its not worth the $400+. There are good budget kits out there, I highly recommend the Understeerk SSK if you are on a budget, but if not go ahead and get the best. Anyways just thought I’d throw in my two cents.
