    Winter Problems...HELP

    hey guys,

just wondering if this is normal or not. i'm getting really paranoid. my '95 m3 is starting to creek, squeek and knock. i'm not sure if something is broken or if it's just the cold weather.

here is one problem: when i start the car and turn the heat on there is some sputtering in the engine, like it's about to stall or something. i was thinking maybe i'm not using the right oil for these cold temps. what is the correct oil i should be using for winter temps?

also: every bump i go over seems like it's going to crack the suspension. i just replaced the rsm with gc shims this past august. new shocks are coming and the tie rods were replaced this past april. any idea's of what these noises could be?

any help would be appreciated guys. i'm probably just being overly paranoid, but maybe you can calm me down.

    thanks!

Yep, my 1997 ///M is the same way. Scared me to death the first cold morning I started it and it promptly died. Give it a minute or two tho and it perks right up.

I found these odd-looking Bosch 4202 plugs that say they're better for cold starts. Haven't tried them yet.

Does your suspension rattle or creak? The creak can be struts. Rattle over rough road can be sway bar links among other things. I had a suspension rattle that was a real booger to find. After replacing struts, lower control arm bushings, the rack and a few other things, I finally narrowed it down to all four ball joints on the sway bar links. I love the curvy Kentucky roads, but its murder on your suspension! At least my suspension is tight now!! :agree:
