Valve tick 100% cured: Risoline is the solution

    hey guys,

as everyone knows, i motors tick like a time bomb. I never really thought there was ever gonna be a solution so i just lived with it. I came up on a few posts lately about a member who talked to VAC motorsport about the valve tick and they recommended Risoline. Risoline is a lubricant specially designed to clean and lubricated valves and valve lifters, and it is safe with all oils both conventional and synthetic on the market, appearantly its been around for 40 years. Anyways when i changed my oil i went from 10W-40 dynosaur oil to 5W-30 mobil 1 synthetic (6 quarts plus 1 qt Risoline), the car definately was quieter but i saw today the "add anytime forumla" which is about a half quart so i figured i might as well put that in as well. now the tick is nearly completely gone, I cannot hear anything. its such a weird feeling, at times i can't even tell if motor is on. i guess i was so used to the ticking that once it was gone i thought something was wrong lol . anywayas car runs like a champ and its super quiet now. Thanks to slickwil (i believe it was him) about finding out about rislone. Great stuff, two thumbs up.

its availbile at any local autoparts store like pepboys, autozone, checkers. there is an add anytime formula or you can get it in quarts. i recommend about 1-1.5 quarts. on the carton it says you can even do 25% of the crankcase. so anything between those values.

is this the same as those Lucas oil products?

I am not sure if it does the same thing, since I haven't looked at the Lucas Oil products. But at $1.99, it was worth a try.

Not if that $1.99 can mess up your engine. For example, I was told by a friend to put in this Engine Restore stuff b/c it helps boost compression....So I bought some and went to change my oil at my shop (I just do it in their parking lot I don't pay them to do it) and I showed my main mechanic whom is from Germany and studied and trained to get some special BMW/Porsche license and told me that the Restore stuff will damage the engine if there is no problem, and even if there is a compression problem only run it for 500 miles, basically really check into a additive to make sure it won't damage anything.

But that was to boost compression, not to clean the engine.

I appreciate your concern Inv3ctiv3...After being on the forums for a while, you tend to trust the advice of some of the other members though, It may be an oversight on my part, but I am not too worried.

Yea I realize that, I just started posting on this forum but have been posting on DTM and BF.c for about a year now. I am going to try this stuff in my engine too, but I want my mechanic to look at it first. B/c that damn valve tick pisses me off :soapbox:
