It's my understanding that they still dyno almost exactly the same at the wheels.

Edit: This is in responce to Custom's post.

The M-coupe IMHO is going to be a collectors item...I would have bought one if it had a back seat.

Ugly in this case means different and collectible.

The M roadster/Coupe in S52 trim is rumoured to actually have a bit MORE HP than the E36 M3 because of the dual exhaust. It is NOT light, it actually weighs within 100 lbs of an E36 M3.

The M3 most definitely handles better given its superior rear end.

There are fixes for the loosey goosey roadster in the form of four body braces which improve the handling dramatically. Stock it's actually a bit scary...

The biggest differance is the presence of the roadster/coupe they are totally differant than anything out there, and just scream sportscar.

Blasting around with the top down in the MZ3 is magic...

Can you tell me more about these "body braces". What exactly are they, what do they do, price, etc. Thanks.

Yes you are right on the engines. Yes, you are right on the transmissions. Weight..I am not totally sure..I would assume it is lighter than the e36 m3. I believe they handle in an equal manner to e36 m3s. (Roadster not having a roof makes it flex more than its Mcoupe counterpart. )

Modifications are pretty similar...and are right on par with e36 m3 modification costs and availability.

I would much prefer the Mcoupe over the Mroadster though..just look at this thing:

                agree. that thing is badass
