Knocking left coilover????????? please help

my left front coilover makes a knocking sound when ever i hit bumps.....the shock is still good ............what else could it be before i get handed a huge $ bill from a perfomance shop to look at it.......at $85 an hour...........

Sounds like the perch or the top of the coilover spring is not tightened down so that the spring slides up when the tire is unloaded on a bump. Jack up the car and take the wheel off and see if anything is loose.

either that or the swaybar link is bad

now if its the sway bar how dangerous would it be to drive the vehicle like this? until its fixed?

not dangerous at all, the link could break. If that happened, which i doubt it will, the swaybar would just go soft. You would have to be on track for you to notice.
