can one upgrade the OBC ?



Im keen on buying an M3 .. but it only has the limited almost naked OBC.... :soapbox:

No. There are no PNP options for plugging an 18 button OBC into a car equipped with an 11 or 8 button.



Yes, it can be retrofitted...but it takes alot of time and alot of patience with wiring and soldering (as best I can tell)



There is a write-up somewhere for how to do it..but it looked to be a MAJOR pain. Search on www.bimmerforums.com and it should come up.

You can directly swap the 11 button if you have the 8. I personally did it. But as Rogue stated, the 18 button requires additional wiring. Probably not worth it.

think of the 11 button obc as the Ltw OBC.... where as the 18 button obc is just added weight!!!
