so you're saying 94 or 95 newer body????

i know that 95 is the last year they offered the 5.0 on mustangs, b/c i raced one at the dragstrip and got him. the 90s mustang v8s are a joke. the new GTs (2000-up) can beat us.

I don't know what the numbers say, but my sister has a '97 Mustang GT and it feels like a dog compared to my M. Even if he beats you on the straights, you'll kill him in the twisties. Oh, and in the end, you're still the one with an M3 .

yea, 1995 5.0's are a joke unless they're fully built

yep, 95 5.0 stangs are dogs - even mustang owners will tell you that.

You should be able to ABLITERATE a 5.0 mustang coupe. A.K.A the 5 Liter slow. They only have 205 hp and are in the high 6's to 60. A newer body 94-98 4.6L is 215 to 225 hp and are only slightly faster (0-60 in about 6.5). I have ran with a 00 GT 4.6L with 260 hp and taken him. Although the 00's have more top end power then my 95

You should probably be able to take a mustang cobra from that year, let alone just a GT.

The 94-98's are pigs. The 4.6 models are hard to get power out of. The 99+'s are a little quicker than us and can be made even faster quite easily. You should have no problems with a stock 5.0. The only stock 5.0L Mustang that is a worthy opponent of the M in a straight line is the 93 Cobra.

Our cars and 99 cobras r nearly the same. So that'd be a good race. But about the 2000- and up GT's. They r slow. I raced a couple of them when my car only had the suspension mods on it. Still destroyed them all.

I raced a 99 (i think) Cobra, non supercharged one. I was in front, he was on my bumper. We both floored it in 1st, went through 3rd gear and he still was behind me. I hit 4th, he changed lanes and caught up to my door by top of 4th, race ended. So the Cobra is faster, but not by much. Get jump on him and you're set. Don't be alarmed by the sound that beast makes! I couldn't hear my M at all, just this wicked roar up my bumper! It sounded mean as hell.

BTW, my car is stock, and I had one passenger.

My friend has a '96 cobra and he still can't figure out why he can't beat me. Both cars are stock, and both are 5 speed. My friend with an S2k beats him as well, and I've lost once to the S2k and I've won once so it's pretty even there.

Anyone have the opportunity to race a new GT? I've only seen a few driving around, but have not had the chance to race any yet. According to the numbers we should absolutely kill them to like 120. They take around 25 sec. to 130, and we are like 16 sec. to 120. They will beat us off the line, but slow down after 60. Its been awhile since i have read to make sure, but i'm pretty possitive those are the right numbers.
