Just took my car in for a rough vibration under acceleration, and some wheel hopping, turns out I cracked the guibo, and broke the diff bolt(s) at the same time. What are the chances....anyway, the diff was hanging, he's going to have to drill the bolt out, PITA. Here's the worst part: getting that fixed, along with new belts, leaky power steering lines, shift shaft seal, diff/rear end bushings, 2 power window regulators.....yeah, just the *few* things i needed to make my car perfect..........$3800 after parts, labor, and tax. what a downer. but my car will be so nice after I get it back that I'll be happy. later.

I just had my tranny seals replaced and my steering lines.
One of the new seals (shift seal) poped back out and I started dumping ATF all over the place and my power steering pump took a dump and was leaking from one of it's seals.
I just got the car back again tonight and for the next few day's I'll be getting under the car to make sure nothing is leaking again.

Yeah, my seal wasn't totally blown out, but it was a little leaky according to the SA. The mechanic told him that it would be a good idea to just replace it.

Do it now, otherwise something else will come up and the list will start to grow. I decided to everything at once and it really did pay off. Also, it is a sedan the best M3 ever made.
 sedan - gotta love 'em.
yeah, I decided before I went in there that I was just going to get everything fixed. It would be a real shame to let such a nice car like an M3 start to slide....Might as well just spend the money and get everything fixed, and fixed right. But like I said, it will be a huge relief when I get it out, because everything will be perfect!

i started breaking diff bolts after installing aa flywheel and stage 2 clutch. after the dsb, 0 failures. it's been on for a year now. I drive my car hard!
yeah but what else is being stressed.. don't get me wrong.. i love it.. but what else could be getting hurt under hard accel.. i would rather that bolt break (as bad as that is.. yes i just said break) than have something else become a problem..

i do'nt have experience with it... but even as a person that has had the bolt break, i just don't think the brace is worth the risk.. if you think aobut the drive line... ur putting stress on this bolt obviously.. if u lock down this bolt in a sold way (or near solid) then that stress has to transfer to some other portion of the driveline, whether it be the guibo, tranny etc.. so obviously we could say this is a week point of the M, but in al reality it may actually be put there as a safety mechanism.. im going to wait it out and see if the people with DSB's hae problems occcur that seem to be in a similar area.. i don't konw.. maybe theres too much engineering coming out in me.. bah

i understand what you're saying about extra stress transferring to other parts of the driveline. i just never thought about that before. yes, i would also like to hear the people w/ DSB's comments

 i knew u would see hwat i mean.. theres just so much going on in that region as far as stresses and torsional forces that it would take me a year to figure out where the next problem point could be.. but if in another year it works well for everyone, then i will probably take care of this (of course when i get a new diff in the future.. lol)
