    Noob exhaust queston, help appreciated

I have a question tho. I love the sound of my stock exhaust with the sound of my cold air intake. I want exhaust that sounds like a low rumble at idle and normal driving cuz I still want it quiet or fairly quiet inside the car with the windows up. I dont want it annoying. I want it to sound mean as hell at WOT, but not buzzy like a pissed off bee that most imports with aftermarket exhausts sound (ie. hondas, nissans, etc.) But I dont want it to sound like a muscle car either. Has anyone ever used a flowmaster or megaflow or any mufflers like that to get a really nice low deep tone out of their M3 exhaust? And if I do a custom exhaust, should I stay with the 2 pipes all the way back or can I have it collect into one after the headers and go all the way back? Is that possible? Or bad idea? And if its ok, is there a diameter of pipe I should go with so I dont ruin performance? Help is appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for your help. I was kinda leaning towards the AA exhaust anyway. I couldnt help but notice the picture of your M and it looks alot like my car from the front. Granted, I dont have a chip or exhaust but yours looks just like mine. Where can I find a website or information on chips for the M3? Do they really help that much? Just looking for advice from people that already have the mods.

Dont go for the A c schnitzer option i have found mine to be very "drony" around low revs

          sometimes serious headache material!!! lol

Well I listened to the SS exhaust, and I have to say that I liked the sound of it. Problem was, it was on a E46 M3, not an E36 M3 like I have. How different is the sound. Is there a huge difference in sound between the sport version and the race version? :nixweiss:

if you have a 95, id recommend the Conforti chip for your car. its more aggressive than Dinan's chip.

Because you have a '97 your only real option is the "Shark Injector" as found at www.turnermotorsports.com and www.sharked.com

Very quality software..by far the best option for obd2.
