I have a Jim C. chip, with a few other mods and it sure makes a difference. I have a manual though.

with an auto.. change the diff.. biggest difference that can be made.. otherwise for the chip.. go with Jim C.. he has some great stuff..

With an auto you could benefit from both a Transmission Chip as well as an Engine Chip.



Tranny Chip= www.dinanbmw.com (they are the only ones who make a transmission ship which helps the transmission shift faster and feel sportier)



Engine Chip= www.turnermotorsports.com is probably your best option as everyone loves the Conforti Chips they offer.



You should check and see what # DME you have...THe general rule of thumb is production date 12/94 and earlier will have a 506 DME and 1/95 and on will have a 413 DME but thats not definite.

All chips will provide roughly the same gains, limiter removed and revlimiter bumped up

u can do the tranny chip and engine chip but to me the tranny chip IS A COMPLETE WASTE... in my experiences with my brothers car it did absolute jack for about 200 or so $'s... save up for a diff instead...
